California Congressional Races

The Los Angeles Times has a deep dive into each of the flip congressional districts, including district maps and demographic and voting data.

CDT partners, the California Labor Federation and California Calls Action Fund, are growing their primary election partnership with Tom Steyer’s NextGen America to get 650,000 voters out to the polls in seven of the potential flip districts in the general election. The grassroots coalition, Uniting California, is expected to invest a couple million dollars or more on voter turnout and now includes Million Voters Project Action Fund and Flip the 49th.

POLICY

The State Senate and Assembly passed SB100 (de Leon) to phase out fossil fuels in California by 2045. Governor Brown has until September 30 to sign the bill into law.

CDT and V4P General Election Donor Briefing Call

Progressives have a big opportunity in the 2018 general election in California—we can return the U.S. House of Representatives to a Democratic majority AND elect progressive candidates to the state legislature through key, overlapping and nested races in historically Republican districts in the Central Valley, Orange County, and San Diego County that voted for Hillary Clinton in 2016. Join California Donor Table and Voices for Progress for a general election donor briefing on Tuesday, September 11 from 3-4pm Pacific to learn more about how we are leveraging endorsement and investment opportunities together for progressive wins up and down the ballot, including ballot measures. We’ll hear from endorsed state legislative candidates and partner regional tables and groups working in priority flip congressional and state legislative races. RSVP now!

She the People Summit

Join California Donor Table/Fund at the She the People Summit on September 20, 2018, 8am-5pm in San Francisco. The summit will feature the nation’s most exciting progressive women of color leaders on the ballot, championing movements, and driving winning political strategy — including our very own Nicole Boucher (also a She the People steering committee member), CDT-endorsed State Senator Holly Mitchell and State Assemblymember Wendy Carrillo, and many of our partner leaders. She the People is expecting up to 500 participants from across the country, and we are thrilled that Nicole will introduce Senator Mitchell on the main stage. Register for the summit now!
