Until now, California Donor Table has been a largely invisible force behind key progressive wins and ensuring that those we help to elect remain accountable to communities of color once they’re in office. With this report, we are sharing our strategy for building progressive power in communities of color, so more people can join us in electing leaders who work for all Californians. We hope to be a model for other states and the nation in the fight against the white supremacy running rampant in the federal administration, as well as more insidiously on both sides of the aisle in every state.
California Donor Table’s Impact Report tells the story of the strategy required to make California truly progressive. Our state has come a long way from the Trump-like Reagan and Wilson administrations that implemented racist, sexist, xenophobic, homophobic, and anti-worker policies, ballot initiatives and other practices. We still have a long way to go to unravel the web of white supremacy and corporate dominance living in our government, and ensure a truly equitable California. The only way we can do this is by electing officials committed to centering the rights of Californians of color.
